Expozitia personala Alexandru PamfilDestul de rar am avut prilejul sa ne intalnim in cadrul Galeriilor de Arta cu expozitii dedicate exclusiv sculpturii. Acest prilej ni-l ofera acum Alexandru Pamfil prin intermediul primei sale expozitii personale. Evolutia sa, de-a lungul celor cativa ani scursi de la absolvirea Institutului clujan, nu a fost spectaculoasa. Avand la baza conceptiei sale plastice elementul figurativ, solid construit, el urmeaza cu tenacitate cateva dintre traseele traditionale ale sculpturii noastre, in care regasim continuu alternanta intre exigentele formale si nuantele de sensibilitate care transpar in lucrarile sale. Preocupat in exclusivitate de personalitatea umana, in general de portret, el prefera ca modalitate tehnica modelajul, dovedind cu fiecare noua lucrare un temperament iscoditor, interesat de natura pshiologica a personajelor sale. Gesturile, pozitia, unghiurile de receptare (remarcam preferinta pentru vederea frontala) creeaza armonii vizuale lipsite de agresivitate. Din compozitiile sale emana multa liniste, o concentrare aproape hieratica, unde spatiul intra automat in posesia lucrarii. Cu o perseverenta care nu s-a dezmintit niciodata sculptorul a procedat metodic la cucerirea fiecarei etape a creatiei, la o buna intelegere a finisajului, dovedind inca o data atractia pentru structurile clasice. In majoritatea cazurilor Alexandru Pamfil prefera sculptura de mici dimensiuni. Dialogul creat poarta pecetea unei personalitati distincte, bazata pe constiinciozitate artistica, concentrare si severitate, mentinute in limitele a ceea ce vrea sa ne transmita. Un asemenea gen de sculptura reprezinta ipostaza cea mai fireasca a contactului cu realitatea, care-i furnizeaza continuu substanta simbolica. Utilizand fie materialele traditionale ale sculpturii, fie metalul el demonstreaza o buna asimilare a modelajului si a cioplirii, tehnici pe care le stie stapani. Dar indiferent de tehnica folosita, in lucrarile lui Alexandru Pamfil se vadeste o necontenita pasiune a constructiei si acest lucru se remarca mai ales in desene - exercitii prealabile, revelatoare ale unor structuri profunde, in care nu paraseste niciodata legatura cu realul. Esential pentru conceptia sa plastica ramane analiza, studiul atent si consecvent al naturii umane, echilibrul realizat intre sensibilitate si luciditatea organizarii facand ca sculptura lui sa posede calitatile unei arte mature, solid construite. Alexandru Pamfil's one-man showRarely have we had the opportunity to see in the Art Galleries shows exclusively devoted to sculpture. Such an opportunity is being given to us today by Alexandru Pamfil through his first one-man show. His evolution, throughout the few years since he graduated from the Institute in Cluj, hasn't been spectacular. Supporting his plastic conception on the solidly constructed figurative element, he has tenaciously followed some of the traditional routes of our sculpture in which we continuously find the alternation between formal exigencies and shades of sensitivity coming off his works. Exclusively concerned with human personality, the portrait in general, he prefers the modeling as a technical modality, proving with each new work a prying temperament, interested in the psychological nature of his characters. The gestures, the position, reception angles (we have noticed his preference for the frontal view) create visual harmonies lacking aggressiveness. His compositions radiate a lot of quiet, an almost hieratical concentration, where space automatically enters in possession of the work. With a perseverence which has never failed the sculptor he has methodically conquered every stage of creation, of a good understanding of the finishing, proving one more time his attraction towards the classical structures. In most cases, Alexandru Pamfil prefers the small-dimension sculptures. The dialogue between him and his work bears the mark of a distinct personality based on artistic conscientiousness, concentration and sternness, maintained in the limits of what he wants to transmit us. Such a kind of sculpture is the most natural hypostasis of the contact with the reality which continuously provides him the symbolical substance. Using either the traditional materials of sculpture or metal he shows a steady assimilation of the modeling and carving, both of them techniques he knows how to master. But irrespective of the technique he uses, Alexandru Pamfil's works display an endless passion for construction, which can be seen mostly in his drawings - beforehand exercises, revealing profound structures in which he never gives up his link with the real. Analysis, the careful and steady study of the human nature, and a balance between sensitivity and the lucidity of organization are of the essence, endowing his works with the qualities of a mature, solidly constructed art.
